Medicaid Coverage Updates

Medicaid eligibility checks will restart as of April 1, 2023. What does this mean?

  • Medicaid will start checking if you are actually eligible to continue receiving medical coverage under Medicaid. Your eligibility depends on many different factors including but not limited to your income, size of your household, etc.

What should you do to prepare for the restarting of Medicaid eligibility checks?

  1. Make sure your contact information (phone number, mailing address) is up to date in the Medicaid system.

  2. You can do this by contacting MNsure at the MNsure Contact Center at 651-539-2099 (855-366-7873 outside the Twin Cities)

  3. Make sure you have all the complete information that you want to change available to you when you make the call

  4. For more information: www.mnsure.org

When and how will you get information regarding your enrollment status with Medicaid?

  1. Medicaid will be processing eligibility based on the anniversary of your enrollment into the program starting April 1, 2023.

  2. They will mail any documents reading your eligibility to your mailing address. Therefore, it is very important that you have updated your mailing address with Medicaid.

  3. As most people do not remember when they first enrolled in the Medicaid program, it is important that you check your mailbox regularly. They will send the documents anytime between April 1, 2023 and March 2024, depending on your enrollment anniversary.
